Peter O’Brien Projects is headed by Peter O’Brien. Peter is a visionary entrepreneur who brings vision, dynamism and longstanding experience to projects in the tourism, catering and urban development areas. He is supported by project teams comprised of specialists in their fields such as architects, engineers, advertising executives, legal specialists, finance specialists and tourism experts.
With over 40 years of global experience, Peter has developed projects in Australia, New Zealand, Korea, the United Arab Emirates, Thailand and the United States. He was an integral adviser to the Sydney 2000 Olympic games organising committee working on all aspects of the catering. Peter O’Brien Projects has delivered numerous aquariums worldwide, (see our projects) and prior to that Peter was responsible for the establishment of Australian Venue Services into a $150 million per annum organisation.
Peter has very few peers in Australia when it comes to advocacy on behalf of business having been President of both the Victorian (VECCI) and Australian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (ACCI). In these roles Peter encouraged the creation of the Melbourne Exhibition Centre and later, the creation of privately funded Plenary venue for which he was a Director for seven years.
Peter has also been a Director of Tourism Australia and currently sits on the advisory panel to Trade Minister Andrew Robb.
Peter O’Brien Projects is currently working on developing a new light rail express train in Melbourne from the CBD to Melbourne Airport (airshuttleaus.com.au). Peter is also a non executive Director of an exciting technology start up based in the United States called BuckitDream and is an adviser to a consortium developing a Surf Park for Docklands in Melbourne.
