Also known as Parkthorn Pty Ltd and trading as Parkthorn Tourism & Leisure Consultants and more recently Peter O’Brien Projects, the company is best known for the key role it played in the formation and growth of Oceanis from 1993 to 2006, to become the world’s largest commercial aquarium developer and operator. The key projects at that time were in Bangkok, Korea, Dubai, Melbourne, Shanghai and South East Queensland.
Peter has also been a Director of Tourism Australia, President of the Victorian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and subsequently President of the Australian Chamber. He was an initiator, adviser and external director of the $1B+ South Wharf, Melbourne integrated tourism precinct until end 2010. In the 1990’s he was the Senior Commercial Consultant to Stadium Australia/Macquarie Bank and SOCOG Sydney.
